-In its darkest hours, the caterpillar becomes a butterfly-
Finally in January, we concluded our campaign at Pengusaha Muda BRIlian 2022 with the sweetest result. Still find it hard to believe that this incredible journey has come to an end, though undeniably we got so many priceless experiences throughout the competition.
At first, we joined the PMB with the intention to learn and gain new insight from other young entrepreneurs in Indonesia. The long challenging time during the Pandemic regrettably also impacted our budding business as well. For that reason, as a founder, I want to broaden my views and reset my mindset to found a new creative and supporting ecosystem. I want to find fresh ideas that might bring new light in developing KaIND, so we can grow as a sustainable fashion brand that is acknowledged by many people.
Truthfully, it was not an easy decision to join PMB in early May last year. Personally, I have a lot on my plate as a founder, a mother, and a leader of our small team in Pasuruan. My team as well, has to maintain the production remotely while preparing our company for the competition. However, when KaIND passed the preliminary stages and was selected as the main participants, I was determined to learn as much as I can and bring the best result for KaIND. I was glad that we made the right decision. In just 19 amazing weeks, we not only grew, but strived with greater focus and stronger purpose to empower our eri silk farmers and artisans.
We were so grateful for the opportunity to meet inspiring mentors and experts from many fields. The mentoring session opened my mind and brought new ideas to transform KaIND as a trailblazer in sustainable fashion communities. The tasks were challenging for sure, but it pushed all of us to be the better version. Along the way, we meet the supermentors, Mr. Billy Boen, Mr. Richie Wirjan, and Mr. Andy Zein. KaIND also has very valuable supervisors, Mrs. Anne Patricia Sutanto, Mrs. Svida Alisjahbana, and Mrs. Suzy Hutomo who always inspires us and helps us widen our networks.
And most of all, thank you for giving us chances to introduce our hometown potentials and highlight the hardworks of our local artisan in Pasuruan. By coming as the 1st winner, we were able to continue our support for our silk farmer community by opening endless opportunities to develop our product. We are also able to plan more definite programs to cultivate the young generations of batik artisans and handweavers in Pasuruan to ensure the longevity of handweaving and batik art in Indonesia.
Just as the caterpillar that can transform in its darkest hours, KaIND will always be ready to face many challenges and be the agent of change in the Indonesian fashion industry, because we believe that sustainable fashion is the true future of our fashion industry.
